Flooring Installation in West University Place and Nearby Towns

We install new floors in West University Place and the towns around it. Many of the houses we work in have some history under the old floor: patched subfloors, old glue, a slab that settled. We find it, show you, and plan the install around it.

The Towns We Cover

Our crews work across West University Place and the small cities close by: Bellaire, Hunters Creek Village, Piney Point Village, Spring Valley Village and Bunker Hill Village. We also take jobs across Houston itself. The work is the same everywhere. We pull up what's there, check what's under it, and fix the base so your new floor sits flat and stays put.

Farther south and southwest, we install floors in Pearland, Missouri City, Fresno and Stafford. Some of those houses are newer. Even so, a twenty-year-old house can hide a cracked slab or a tile job someone set right over old vinyl. If you're not sure we come out your way, ask when you call. We'll give you a straight answer.

What We Run Into Across the Area

Older houses and past repairs
Plenty of houses here have been remodeled more than once. We find carpet over vinyl over hardwood, plywood patches where a wall came out, and old black mastic stuck to the slab. Some older adhesives and sheet flooring can contain asbestos. When we see them, we stop and talk with you about testing before anything gets scraped.
Slabs and pier and beam
Most homes in the metro sit on a concrete slab. The clay soil swells when it's wet and shrinks in dry spells, so slabs crack and drift out of level. Older houses may sit on pier and beam, where soft joists and sagging subfloor are common. We check flatness with a long straightedge and grind or level before any floor goes down.
Humidity and water
Gulf humidity runs high most of the year, and heavy storms can push water inside. Wood and laminate need time in your home to adjust before we lay them, and we test slabs for moisture first. For rooms that have taken on water before, we often point you toward tile, luxury vinyl plank or luxury vinyl tile.
Permits and HOA rules
Swapping one floor covering for another usually doesn't need a building permit, but rules differ from city to city. Some neighborhoods and HOAs limit work hours, parking or where a dumpster can sit. Tell us about any rules when you call and we'll plan the job day around them.

Tell Us About Your Floor

Call and tell us which rooms, what's on the floor now and roughly how old the house is. We'll talk through what might be underneath and set a time to come measure.
